A Successful 1st Edition for the Innovation Day on the Agri-food Industry!

On January 25, 2023, at the Centrexpo Cogeco in Drummondville, was held the very 1st Innovation Day – Technological Innovation : an Essentiel Lever to Ensure the Sustainability and Profitability of Agri-food Businesses, jointly organized by the Consortium de recherche et innovations en bioprocédés industriels (CRIBIQ), the Consortium de recherche sur la pomme de terre du Québec (CRPTQ) and the Producteurs de pommes de terre du Québec (PPTQ).

The adoption of innovative technologies is an area of interest for the Quebec agri-food sector. Indeed, recent technologies allow producers and food processing managers to improve their work methods while increasing their efficiency and productivity in order to proudly offer quality products.

The 1st Innovation Day consisted primarily of encouraging knowledge transfer by highlighting innovations which are applicable to the agri-food sector, i.e. recent industrial, scientific and technological developments related to artificial intelligence, innovative processes in production, conservation and processing, as well as other themes such as life cycle analysis, regenerative agriculture and the use of drones in agriculture in Quebec and elsewhere in the world.

In this spirit, 150+ producers, agronomists, advisors, engineers, food processors, researchers, consultants and other stakeholders from the agri-food sector attended 13 conferences led by 14 exceptional guests from the fields of innovation, R&D, food processing, agri-food economy, digital transformation, agricultural production and artificial intelligence.
